According to the footnote in The Fort Langley Journals 1827-30, Pierre was from "Sorel", and went to Fort Nisqually from Fort Langley, retiring in the Cowlitz Valley in what is now Washington state. From another footnote in The Fort Langley Journals, William Fraser Tolmie describes Pierre as "a middle sized broadchested Indian, a Banakir [Abenaki] from near Montreal, aged 40 & the best deer hunter of the Rocky Mountains." Francis Annance was sent to "find" him for the 1825-26 Snake River expeditions. In the Catholic Church Records, his name is shown as Pierre Charles dit Langlois.
