     WILLIAM HENRY NEWTON is listed in the Victoria City section of the 1874 B.C. Directory, but as a farmer at the mouth of the Fraser River, which would be across Georgia Straight from Victoria.  It is believed that most of his family were residents of Victoria at that time.
