Augustus/Augustin Willing

On September 11, 1853, George Willing, son of Augustin Willing and a Lanitsh woman. George's god father was Etienne M'ahi, "canadien".

It should be noted that on the handwritten French original:

  • Willing is recorded as "Weeling"
  • and "Etienne M'ahi canadien" is exactly how it is written
  • the officiating priest was either Father Haerolen or Father Haerden; these are the two best guesses
  • And the "Lanitsh woman" may be a "Sanitsh woman"; Ls and Ss look quite similar.
